By accessing or using Life Story's services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. These Terms apply to all users globally, including those who book interviews and create life story books.

2. Service Description

Life Story provides:

• Professional Zoom interview services (around five hours, typically split into several sessions)
• Recording and transcription of interview sessions
• Professional editing and writing to transform interviews into life story books
• One professionally printed copy of the finished book, with a soft cover (extra copies can be ordered per copy)
• Unlimited editing before final printing
• Professional guidance throughout the process

3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Pricing

The Service is offered at the price shown at the time of purchase, in the currency of your market. This is a one-time payment that includes all services described above.

3.2 Payment Terms

• Payment is required in full at the time of booking
• Payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Prices are shown in your market's currency at the time of purchase
• We do not store your payment information

3.3 Refund Policy

• Payments are non-refundable. Our guarantee is the approval gate: you review, edit, and approve every page before we print
• The one exception is the reservation deposit: if, after the planning conversation, you decide not to proceed, the deposit is refunded in full
• We stand behind the quality of our final book product

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to your stories, memories, and content shared during interviews. By using our Service, you grant Life Story a limited license to:

• Record, transcribe, and process your interviews
• Edit and format your content into book form
• Print and deliver physical books to you

5.2 Final Book

You own the final life story book and all rights to its content. You are free to:

• Share, distribute, or give books to family and friends
• Order additional printed copies (fees may apply)
• Modify or adapt the content for personal use

5.3 Our Content

The Life Story website, branding, and Service methodology remain our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our Service without permission.

6. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during booking
• Attend scheduled interview sessions or reschedule with reasonable notice
• Have the legal right to share all stories, photos, and content you provide
• Not share content that is defamatory, illegal, or infringes on others' rights
• Treat our interviewers and staff with respect
• Review and approve the final book before printing

7. Scheduling and Rescheduling

• Interview sessions are scheduled at mutually convenient times
• You may reschedule sessions with at least 24 hours notice at no charge
• Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may result in fees
• Repeated no-shows may result in service termination without refund

8. Book Creation Process

8.1 Timeline

• Interview completion: around five hours (typically split into several sessions)
• Draft creation: shortly after the final interview
• Review and editing: Unlimited time for your review and requests
• Final printing and delivery: shortly after your approval

8.2 Revisions

You have unlimited opportunities to review and request edits before final printing. After the book is printed, additional changes require reprinting at additional cost.

8.3 Photos

You may include as many photos as you wish in your book. Photos must be provided in digital format and you must have rights to use them.

9. Technology Use

Our Service uses modern technology, alongside professional interviewers, writers, and editors, to transcribe, edit, and format your life story. By using our Service, you acknowledge that:

• Technology is used to improve the quality and readability of your story
• The final content remains your authentic story and experiences
• You will have full opportunity to review and modify the edited content
• Your recordings and your story are never shared, sold, or made public. They are used only to create your family's book

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information and interview recordings.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement of third-party rights
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Accuracy or completeness of content

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIFE STORY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits or data
• Loss of use or business interruption
• Emotional distress

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the Service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Life Story harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you provide that infringes on others' rights
• Your use of the Service

14. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

• Breach of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abusive behavior toward staff
• Non-payment or chargeback

All prices are listed in USD. Your bank may apply currency conversion fees. Local taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction.

16.4 Shipping and Delivery

Physical books are shipped internationally. Delivery times vary by location (typically 2-4 weeks). International shipping costs and customs duties may apply.

You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable local, regional, and national laws, including but not limited to:
